On August 14, the leaders of the Swedish political parties within the Alliance (Alliansen), Ulf Kristersson (M), Annie Lööf (C), Jan Björklund (L) and Ebba Busch Thor (KD), visited Stena Line in Gothenburg, to learn more about how the company works with fossil free fuels within the shipping industry. In conjunction with the visit, the leaders hosted a press gathering where they presented their common policies in regards to the environment and environmental issues. The visit and the consequent press gathering received meaningful attention within the media, as environmental issues, and particularly sustainable fuels, is a key question ahead of the 2018 elections. Stena Line is on the forefront of working with these issues.
During the visit Claes Berglund, Director Public Affairs & Sustainability at Stena AB, talked about Stena Lines work and vision in regards to fossil free fuels, and more specifically about the battery-driven ship M/S Stena Jutlandica.
