Maarja Edman joins EHRENBERG SØRENSEN Kommunikation

EHRENBERG SØRENSEN Kommunikation is pleased to welcome Maarja Edman as the newest member of its advisory board. With over three decades of experience in the tourism industry and having lived as an expatriate Swede in five different EU countries, Maarja embodies the international approach and specialised focus of the agency operating in Sweden, Denmark & Germany.

International communications agency EHRENBERG SØRENSEN Kommunikation, specializing in transport, tourism, and food & wine, introduces Maarja Edman to its advisory board, where she will support the agency and management with her experience in strategy, business development and stakeholder engagement.

Maarja has held executive leadership roles in both public and private organizations, most recently as CEO of Visit Trelleborg, where she strengthened the city’s place branding and increased revenue through innovative collaborations. During her tenure, the destination was awarded an international sustainability prize for its local tourism strategy. She was also instrumental in achieving 13 consecutive tourism growth records across multiple destinations.

Prior to her role at Visit Trelleborg, Maarja served as Head of Business Intelligence at Höga Kusten Destinationsutveckling and as Regional Director of Tourism at Visit Västernorrland. In the private sector, Maarja has held key leadership positions in major international hotel chains, including InterContinental Hotels Group, Hilton International, and Scandic Hotels.

At the Advisory Board, Maarja will join Søren Poulsgaard Jensen and Anne-Sophie Hottiaux. Søren, former CEO of Scandlines and chief executive at A.P. Moller Maersk, brings over 30 years of experience in maritime industry, specializing in strategy, business development, and operations. Based in Germany, Anne-Sophie, originally from France, is the Managing Director EMEA and Germany at global communications agency HOPSCOTCH Season, bringing extensive agency and brand activation experience.

As the newest member of the Advisory Board, Maarja brings a career spanning multiple European countries, including Sweden, Denmark, the Netherlands, Austria and the UK, where she has developed a profound understanding of international markets and cross-cultural business environments.
