01 | Challenge

Finnair is the national carrier of Finland, the home country of Santa Claus who lives up North in Rovaniemi in Finish Lapland. As part of his annual Santa Tour, Santa Claus visited Berlin for the first time. Our goal was to raise awareness about Santas home Finland as a travel destination, with Finnair having connections from Berlin via Helsinki to Rovaniemi, as well as to increase brand love for Finnair.

02 | Solution

To promote the partnership with Finnair, ESK organized a high-impact media and influencer activation around Santa Claus’s arrival at Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER). Thirteen media representatives were invited to cover the event, supported by a press release and vivid media assets to maximize exposure.
 

 

An exclusive Nordic breakfast welcomed selected influencers, offering a taste of Finnish Christmas traditions and the chance to win flights to Santa’s hometown, Rovaniemi.

To sustain buzz, ESK secured a radio interview for Santa at a top Berlin station the next morning, boosting awareness for Finland, the Santa Claus Village, and travel opportunities with Finnair.
